(Cheap) Happy Hour at Uva Enoteca

I like a good deal as much as the next girl, well to be honest maybe a little more, that's why I would definitely go back to Uva Enoteca for happy hour. We got there at 6pm and had about 30mins to order before the happy hour deal was over. Here's what we tried:

The pasta dish ($8) was very fresh and creamy.

This lentil appetizer, was very bland. It tasted like uncooked lentils in water.

Fresh personal pizzas ($4). There was one strange herb otherwise pretty tasty.

The happy hour wine we ordered was very simple, but for a $12 bottle nobody was complaing.

Happy Hour at Mexico DF

I tried this place for the first time for Happy Hour after trying to go to Shanghai1930 first. It turns out that Shanghai1930 has closed. I am not sure why their website is still up. It seems like a big tease. Mexico DF is right next door so we ended up going there instead. I was happy to see that they had a happy hour menu. $5 margaritas make my afternoon. The chips and guacamole were nothing to get excited about. The tortilla chips were too thick for my taste. They tasted a bit like bland, tough taco shells. The guacamole could have also used some more spice, like lime and salsa. We didn't stay but judging from the Yelp comments, I don't think we missed out on much. My favorite Yelp comment, which also sums up my take of the little food I tired, is from Scott S. who said
"this place should be on that website: 'stuff white people like.'
